General Motors’ announced plant closings emphasize the urgency for a Green New Deal. We don’t need any more abandoned factories in the Rust Belt. These plants can and should be re-tooled for green production.
We have a once in a generation opportunity to both create good union jobs AND stop the climate crisis. We demand a Just Transition that centers on workers, people of color, indigenous communities and the poor.
