If you haven’t yet signed up for our special Zoom meeting taking place on Tuesday, October 27 at 8 p.m. Eastern, you can do so now by clicking here.
Plans are underway to bring together speakers from the labor movement and youth organizations to talk about how they are preparing to mobilize in the event the President loses and refuses to honor the results.
Here’s what we’re looking forward to:
- Speakers who will share what their actions are amid a potential unconstitutional takeover of government power by the current administration in the event it is required to concede.
- Breakout sessions based on geography–what plans are in the works regionally, in specific states with hotly contested races or in cities where there have been a high number of violent acts against peaceful Black Lives Matter protestors.
- Participation by you, your colleagues or fellow students on how you can get involved with efforts in the works or join your efforts with those of other groups.

In this vital moment, the labor movement has a critical role to play to protect democracy. If you’re in a union, please come willing to discuss what resources your union may have to support these efforts.
In case you missed it, check out Jeremy Brecher’s latest installment of “Strike!,” “Social Self-Defense Against the Impending Trump Coup,” to get an idea of what youth organizations and unions are already planning.
Right now, even with planning ahead, it’s important we continue to hit the polls. Let’s keep encouraging our communities to mask up, bring hand sanitizer and wait out the lines. Our lives depend on it. #Vote
