Travis Epes lives in Portland, OR. He’s worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service since 2014. Travis got involved with the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) in 2017 to fight against USPS’ plan to cut jobs and lay off workers. He became a shop steward for APWU Local 128 in 2018 and in 2020 was elected to the Local 128’s Executive Board as Newsletter Editor. Since then, he has been a delegate to state and national APWU conventions, where he helped organize a workshop on organizing workers around issues of sustainability and a just transition with support from LNS. He was very proud to help prepare and participate in LNS Young Worker Convergence this past September in Pasadena, CA, and remains an integral part of the Young Worker Project Organizing Committee.
